Kubrick, fotógrafo
Esta mañana, navegando por algunos blogs me he encontrado con esta información, que desconocía totalmente. Por lo visto el genial Stanley Kubrick fue fotógrafo antes que cineasta, y trabajo de reportero para la revista Look. Aquí podeis ver el artículo en sí, publicado cuando la exposición de su obra fotográfica, realizada entre los años 1945 y 1950, se encontraba en Milán. Ahora acaba de inaugurarse en Venecia, y el página oficial de la muestra, aunque está en italiano, también podéis cómo se manejaba el director de 'El Resplandor' con la cámara (de fotos).

Con motivo del ejercicio que nos ha puesto Luis, os dejo el link de esta fotógrafa que se inspira en la luz de cuadros como los de Vermeer y otros pintores holandeses para sus retratos. En esta entrevista cuenta con detalle cómo realiza las fotos. ¿Qué pensaríais si os dijese que se trata de HDRs!?...
Leyendo la entrevista podéis averiguar también por qué, por más que clavemos la luz, no acabamos de conseguir el look del cuadro...

Hablando de Banksy, os recomiendo su película "Exit through the gift shop", estrenada en salas españolas la semana pasada.
Sin duda te remueve y te hace reflexionar bastante sobre el mercado del arte.

"TERMINAL BAR"
bueno, mi primera aportación al blog, a ver qué os parece: es un enlace a un clip de youtube de la película "Terminal Bar", del director y diseñador web Stefan Nadelman; son montajes de fotos que hizo su padre en el bar en el que trabajó hasta 1982 en NY, un bar de camorristas, proxenetas y demás elementos marginales; Sheldon Nadelman va contando las historias de los tipos retratados y cómo les trató la vida (la mayoría con unos finales bastante turbios). bueno, ahí queda el enlace, nos vemos en clase

Los deslices de Tiger...
He encontrado la foto que comentó Jose Luis el otro dia... Tendra truco?Accidentalmente, Tiger Woods derribó casualmente a un fotógrafo con una bola de golf en medio de la Ryder Cup. El damnificado cayó planchado. Una puntería envidiable.
Mark Pain del Daily Mail, estaba en su posición en el hoyo 18 cuando Woods cometió un error al golpear. La bola chocó contra la cámara de Pain y cayó al suelo. A diferencia de otras ocasiones en las que Tiger ha reclamado por la posición de los fotógrafos en el campo, en esta ocasión no lo hizo. La culpa no era del fotógrafo, fue un error de Woods.

Mientras hablábamos ayer en clase con Paco (entre otras cosas), sobre la ética y efectividad de la fotografía de guerra etc....Spottorno escribía simultaneamente esta entrada en su blog. Yo particularmente, estoy de acuerdo en casi todo (y me apetece ver ese documental).

Conocí a Superman
El otro día estaba por la zona de Esperanza, y me encontré con Jesús Lopez.
Llevaba el tío un buen rato dando vueltas por la zona en su bici, hasta que al final se acercó a mi y se bajó de un salto:
-¿Eres periodista?
- No, fotógrafo.
- Ahh, ya decía yo. ¿Y eso que es?
- Es un reflector para la luz.
- Ahh, ya decía yo.
Total que empezamos a charlar. Me cuenta que en el descampado sobre el que estamos hablando, el Ivima lleva tiempo tirando las casas de toda la vida para construir chalets nuevos, y que él es uno de los pocos que resiste. La casita en la que vive tiene 35m2 y un patio de unos 20 más. No deja de quejarse de lo mucho que ha empeorado el barrio en los últimos tiempos, y cuando le pregunto si no preferiría aceptar el piso que le ofrecen, me dice:
- Despues de tanto tiempo aquí?, ni hablar!!.
- ¿Que lleva usted, mucho en el barrio?
- Pues toda la vida, 81 años. Nací en esa casa de ahí.
- ..........(silencio)
- Dice que tiene usted 81 años?
- Si.
- Y todavía monta en bicicleta......
- Ahora un poco menos. El otro día bajando esa cuesta de ahí, me despisté mirando a una chica guapa y me dí un porrazo contra esa farola....Me fuí rodando hasta abajo!. Mira, se me ha roto la pata de las gafas.
- ..........¿me permite hacerle una foto?
- Faltaría mas, ¿donde me pongo?
- Ahí mismo.
Y se alejó pedaleando de nuevo (cuesta arriba).
Me encantó el tipo y me gusta la foto, aquí os la dejo.

Essse medio formatooo......
Ayer me quedé bastante impresionada con todo el tema del revelado/copiado, y en realidad llevo bastante tiempo mirando camaras, y anoche me tropezé con un anuncio de un anuncio de Mamiya 7 por 529 euros. No es como el de Nando, supongo que es un modelo anterior, por lo menos el aspecto es diferente. Viene sin objetivo, claro...
